Introduction British Side English Language School was set up in 2006 with the aim of meeting the continuing demand for high quality English language provision. The partners share the experience of setting up and managing British Council Teaching Operations in Turkey. Between 1997 and 2006 British Council courses became a well-known brand setting the benchmark for quality. Now British Side provides English teaching of the best quality, considering the needs of students and giving priority to their demands.

Location

We are situated on the European side of Istanbul, in the former British Council building (opposite the Conrad Hotel) on Barbaros Bulvari in Besiktas. Besiktas is not only a commercial centre but also one of the biggest student hubs of the city with the main campus of Yildiz Technical University. Our location is accessible to the students living on both sides of İstanbul, being very close to the bridge and ferries.

Our social programme is renewed for each 9 week term, and is free to all British Side students. It involves extra conversation classes, documentaries and discussions, social activities such as parties and sports tournaments and briefings on UK schools’ programmes
